Reflection Questions
1. Which
technologies have you heard about that you would like to try? What would you do with these technologies?
I
have used many different types of technologies but one that I have little
experience with is a smart board. I have
used it a few times but not constantly.
I want to bring it to my future gymnasium. I want to be able to open a few of my future
lessons with a cool video on a sport to spark the interest of the
students. I believe this can be a great
way to show them how cool or different a sport can be from ones that they have
already experienced.
2. Can
you demonstrate each skill listed for the ECDL as well as the ISTE NETS-T? If
not, what can you do to acquire these skills?
Each skill listed ISTE NETS-T are:
Facilitate and Inspire Student Learning and Creativity. A teacher can do this by allowing technology to facilitate experiences that advance student learning
Design and Develop Digital Age Learning. Teachers incorporate tools and resources that create experiences for their students so they can develop knowledge, skills, and attitudes.
Model Digital Age Work and Learning. Teacher show knowledge and skills that show a professional in a digital society.
Promote and Model Digital Citizenship and Responsibility. Teachers understand the local and global issues and responsibilities for the digital culture around them.
Engage in Professional Growth and Leadership. Teachers continuously try to improve at their practice while modeling a lifestyle that exhibits leadership within their communities by promoting an effective use of digital tools and resources.
I do believe i can demonstrate some of these skills such as design and develop digital age learning and promote and model digital citizenship and responsibility.
As for the ECDL, I can demonstrate:
ICT
Using a computer and managing files.
Word processing
Presentations and web browsing and communication.
Unfortunately I do not have great experience or skill with:
Spreadsheets
Using data bases
Image editing
web editing
IT security

3. Is
your personal computer set-up ergonomically correct? Why/Why not?
My MacBook Air is not set up ergonomically correct while in my bedroom. I can sit up completely straight but my head is not a level plain with top of the computer. I often get pain in my wrists from typing unless I have a long sleeve shirt on that can go under my wrists. While using my computer at the library or in the classroom, it is not set up ergonomically correct either. The reason is because when I sit completely straight with my computer, my wrists sit on the edge of the computer which causes pain. I cannot sit my wrists anywhere else because this is the best way for me to type. Also, I am forced to look down which causes stress to my neck and back.

-I have worked with technology for a long time but a few skills i want to acquire are:
Working with PC's- I am very bad at working with PC's. I feel that they are too complicated but I still want to gain more experience with them.
-Also, I would also like to have the capability to create my own apps for the IPAD in relation to help students with learning disabilities. I have learning disabilities myself and I feel a lot of the apps I use are great but I would like to put my own spin on a few to help those who use them and have learning disabilities.
-I want to pass this class- I am very good with technology but i hate to fail at anything and passing a class based on something i know very well, technology, i want to pass this class.
